Evaluating the Impact of the EU Emissions Trading System on Aviation Supply: Evidence from Synthetic Control Methods
WEBINAR BY DR. TIZIANA D'ALFONSO
On Tuesday, March 17, the Institute for Sustainable Aviation (ISA) was honored to welcome Dr. Tiziana D’Alfonso, Associate Professor of Industrial Organization and Transport Economics and Policy at Sapienza University of Rome.
During her presentation, “Assessing the Impact of the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) on Airline Supply: Evidence from Synthetic Control Methods”, Dr. Tiziana D’Alfonso shared the findings of her award-winning publication* (Best Paper at the ATRS 2021 Conference).
Her research highlighted the impact of the EU ETS on airlines’ business models, flight frequency and route selection.
Dr. Chantal Roucolle, researcher and lecturer at ENAC, then led a lively discussion on the challenges of carbon taxes, particularly their effects on airfare pricing and airline strategies.
Thank you to our speakers, as well as to Laurent Joly and Marc Ivaldi, hosts of this webinar.
